Craig Plant passed away Wednesday February 21st, 2018 at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. He was 56 years old.
Born in Rockville Center, NY, he grew up in Westfield and resided in Maryland Heights, MO for 20 years and most recently, Highlands, NJ. Craig was a Christian brother who worked as a union carpenter in New Jersey and Missouri.
Craig was a graduate of Westfield High School (Class of 1979), where he lettered in wrestling and track and field and threw the javelin. He was a Yankees fan and coached his son’s baseball teams. He loved the Atlantic Ocean which he fished and surfed in. He loved spending time with his friends and family. He also enjoyed playing golf.
He is survived by his son Culver James Plant, his sister Suzannah Plant; his brother Scott (and his wife, Connie); and his niece, Stephanie Plant. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Maretta.
Friends and family will gather on Thursday March 1st, 2018 between 4 & 7 pm at the Dooley Colonial Home, 556 Westfield Ave. Westfield, NJ. A Memorial service will begin at 11am Friday March 2nd at the funeral home, followed by interment at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.
