Life Story for
Susan St. Onge
Susan Dalton St. Onge
Susan Dalton St. Onge was an energetic and positive life force for 49 years.
She passed away quietly on June 21, 2018, following a lifetime of service that touched the lives of countless people through simple acts of kindness, usually accompanied by a smile that started from her eyes. She lived life with an ease and grace that comforted others. The beauty of her spirit will ripple through the lives of all who knew her.
The Mother of three daughters, she was a fierce advocate for them in all ways imaginable and they will be her greatest legacy.
A Fanwood resident, Susan was born February 10, 1969 in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Westfield as an infant.
She graduated from Westfield High School and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Wilkes University in 1991 where she played for the first Lady Colonels soccer team and later became a member of the University’s John Wilkes Society.
Susan’s career in higher education included positions at Franklin Pierce College, Rutgers University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Princeton University and Stevens Institute of Technology where she served as Director of Graduate Admissions.
She was proudest, however, of her role as Mother to three growing daughters.
Susan is survived by her husband, Kevin St. Onge and their daughters Molly, Nora and Ella.
She is also survived by her parents, John and Ann Dalton of Manasquan, her brother John and wife Denise of Chelmsford, MA and her brother Christopher, wife Annalisa, niece Victoria and nephew Cooper of Basking Ridge.
Visitation is at the Dooley Colonial Funeral Home, Westfield from 5:00-9:00 pm Friday June 29.
A celebration of Susan’s life will be held at St. Helen’s Church, Westfield at 11:15 am Saturday June 30.
It is suggested that donations in lieu of flowers may be made in Susan’s memory to the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Rescue Program and/or the Wilkes University Women’s Soccer Team.
