Isidro Borras, 89, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Colonia on Saturday, June 30th, 2018.
Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, as a young man he enjoyed dancing, listening to tango & bolero music, watching the sport of boxing & bullfighting, as well as meeting his one & only love, Manuela, whom he was married to for almost 69 years.
He was employed as a tailor for many years in Venezuela before retiring to the United States. He always loved dressing elegantly in a full suit & tie, completed by his jewelry & fragrant cologne.
He will be remembered for being an excellent & exemplary father. He was a loving and affectionate family man. He cared deeply for his children & grandchildren all who will miss him dearly.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Manuela Martinez De Borras; his daughters, Judith Cuesta, and Jaidy Gallardo; his sons, Nelson and Wilfredo Borras; and 12 grandchildren.
Visitation will be at the Dooley Colonial Home, 556 Westfield Ave., Westfield, on Thursday from 6 PM to 8 PM. Services will begin at the funeral home at 10 AM on Friday morning, followed by entombment at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.
