Mrs. Eleanor Fiorino passed away Saturday July 7th, 2018, surrounded by family at the Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains. She was 85 years old.
Born in New Brunswick to Alexander and Helen Dorf, Eleanor had been a Westfield resident since 1959. Mrs. Fiorino was a long time, active parishioner of Holy Trinity R.C. Church in Westfield, and a member of the choir and the Holy Trinity Seniors. She retired in 1985 from Ingersoll Rand South Plainfield after 20 years of service. Mrs. Fiorino was active for many years with the Italian American Club of North Plainfield. An animal lover and film enthusiast, Eleanor was a warm and loving person who will be dearly missed.
Mrs. Fiorino was predeceased by her son, John Fiorino in 1998, by her husband, Joseph Fiorino in 2007, and by her daughter, Patricia Petersen in 2012.
She is survived by her daughter, Joanne Hughes and her husband Rob; by her son-in-law, Doug Petersen and daughter-in-law, Allison Fiorino; by her grandchildren, Alek, Russell and wife Jackie, Claire Petersen, Amy Maza and husband Joe, Vincent Fiorino and wife Lindsey, Stephen Fiorino, Shane Hughes and wife Jen, and RJ Hughes; by her great grandchildren Bailey, Gianna, Vincent, Ava, and Vianca; and by a host of extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Tuesday at the Dooley Colonial Home 556 Westfield Ave. in Westfield. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday morning in Holy Trinity R.C. Church. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
