Lucia Martorina, 81, a longtime resident of Westfield, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Monday, March 11th, 2019. Born and raised in Gela, Sicily, she sailed to the United States on the Queen Frederica in 1958.

Lucia was a longtime member of St. Helen’s R.C. Church in Westfield. She loved visiting her native Sicily and spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her caring personality and love for her family.
Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Rosario; her son, Orazio Robert Martorina; her sisters Enza Caltagirone (husband, Crocifisso) Anna Martorina, brothers Giuseppe Martorina (wife, Rosa), Nunzio Martorina, sister in-law Antoinetta Martorina, brother in-law Frank Martorina, brother-in-law Giuseppe Martorina (wife Giovanna) many nieces and nephews; and step-grandchildren and Larry and Carlito. She was predeceased by her brothers Vincent and Pietro Martorina and her sister in-law Anna C. Martorina.
The funeral will be at Dooley Colonial Home, 556 Westfield Ave., Westfield on Saturday, March 16th at 9 AM followed by a funeral Mass at St. Helen’s R.C. Church, Rahway Ave., Westfield, at 10 AM. Entombment will follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 4 PM to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org)
