Sarah “Sally” Gallagher Sprick, 89, passed away Monday, June 3, 2019, at the Chelsea in Fanwood. Born and raised in New York City, she lived in New York, Washington D.C. and Williamsburg, VA before moving to Scotch Plains several years ago.

After attending business school, Sally worked for NBC Studios in New York City, before going to work at McKinsey & Co. in New York City. It was there that she worked as the administrative assistant to the chairman. She transferred to the Washington D.C. office, upon returning from over two years in Rome, Italy, having worked as part of the American Staff associated with Vatican II. Sally lived in the DC area until the 1990’s when she moved to Williamsburg, VA.
Sally will be remembered for her love of family, her caring ways with everyone, her laughter, her dimples and her blue eyes.
She was predeceased by her husband, Carl, who died in 2017 and her parents, Elizabeth McDonnell and John E. Gallagher, as well as her siblings, Dan, John, Ann, Therese, Raymond and Rose. Surviving are her brother, Gerry Gallagher and his wife, Madeline; her sister, Mary Harris and her husband, Ken; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be from Dooley Colonial Home, 556 Westfield Ave., Westfield, on Friday, June 7th at 9 AM followed by a 10 AM funeral Mass at St. Bartholomew the Apostle R.C. Church, Westfield Ave., Scotch Plains. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.
