Friends and extended family may visit with Gloria's immeadiate family at 10:45am on August 30th at the Dooley Colonial Home. We will be leaving in procession at 11:30am for a Graveside Service at St. Gertrude Cemetery
Gloria Druzek , loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away on Wednesday August 21st at the age of 87. Gloria was born on April 20th, 1932 in Elizabeth N.J to Joseph Downey and Frances Sczygiel . She resided there until she met her future husband Mike at a Church dance. True romantics , they were engaged on Valentine's Day. Gloria married in 1958 to her sailor after being engaged for six years. They shared a happy life together for 51 years in Westfield until his passing.
Gloria worked as an administrative assistant at Weston’s in Elizabeth for many years. She was also a dedicated volunteer in the cafeteria at St. Anne's School where both of her daughters attended and where she was a parish member for many years. She loved to knit and was an avid fan of crochet , often creating many handmade treasures as gifts. Gloria was always actively involved in her children's activities and later in life , her grandchildren's. She was a city girl but she came to know and love all kinds of animals ,often acquiescing to her family's repeated request to help injured and homeless animals.
Gloria touched each and every person she met in a very special and loving way. Surviving are her two daughters. Pat Healy and her husband Paul of Burke Virginia and Eva Rossi and her husband Joe with whom she lived in Westfield. Gloria also has 2 grandchildren whom she adored: Michael Rossi and Emily Rossi; and her sweet golden retriever pal.. Madz.
A private family prayer service will be held graveside at St. Gertrude's Cemetery in Colonia NJ on August 30th at 12pm.
A celebration of life will be held on September 21st at The Rossi Family Home located at 914 Union Street, Westfield NJ 07090. The Druzek family will start receiving friends and extended family at 5PM. The candlelight Ceromony will start once Dark. Feel free to stop by anytime after 5PM, stay for the entire time or come just for the Candlelight Ceremony. Please RSVP with EVA at (908)-347-6989 by 09/18/2019
