Edward Rizkalla Jr.69, passed away on Tuesday, December 24th, 2019 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. Born in Plainfield and raised in Clark, Eddie was a resident of Westfield for the past 27 years.

Eddie was a graduate of Arthur L. Johnson Regional High School in Clark. He received a Business Administration degree from Union College in Cranford and completed the Culinary Program at Hudson County Community College in Jersey City. He was recognized by the American Culinary Federation as a Certified Chef de Cuisine.
Eddie loved food and cooking and out of this love he became a chef. He spent the last 25 years in the food service industry working for a variety of corporate companies including Merck and Schering-Plough. After retiring in 2010 he started working in the seafood department at Shop Rite in Clark to occupy his time.
Eddie was full of life and always the life of the party. He enjoyed spending time with the family, especially all his nieces and nephews. He and Gail loved going to new restaurants with their friends on the weekends. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed gardening, golfing, and fishing. He was a huge environmentalist and wanted to protect the earth for future generations. Because he was larger than life he will be greatly missed by everyone.
Eddie is predeceased by his father Edward Rizkalla Sr. and his brother-in-law Nick Sorrentino. He is survived by his loving wife Gail, his brother Jim and his wife Lynn, and his sisters Jane Sorrentino, Laury Casson and her husband Mark, Suzanne Bakie and her husband Steve, Lynn Weston and her husband John. and his brother-in-law John Matteo and his wife Sharon.
He is also survived by eleven nieces and nephews and 10 great nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may visit Eddie and his family at Dooley Colonial Home, 556 Westfield Ave, Westfield, NJ on December 29th from 4 to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Church on December 30th at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
