Mrs. Margaret E. Kolibas, 96, passed away December 27th, 2019 at home in Westfield.
Born in Jersey City to Paul and Anna (Kraynack) Balas, Margaret moved to Roselle Park in 1950 and then into Westfield in 1965. Mrs. Kolibas was a long time member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Westfield. She worked for a number of years at the Westfield office of the Suburban News.
A talented seamstress, she enjoyed sewing and embroidery, as well as regular Bingo. A devoted and loving wife and mother, Margaret cherished time spent with family.
Mrs. Margaret Kolibas was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Joseph A. Kolibas in 1998; by her brother, John G. Balas in 2005; and by her daughter-in-law, Betty Kolibas in 2014.
She is survived by her children: son, Ronald J. Kolibas of Middlesex, daughter, Lorraine M. Kolibas and her husband Jeff Goldstein of Summit, son, Alan J. Kolibas and his wife Cindi Baltzer of Troy, Ohio, and son and caregiver , Robert M. Kolibas of Westfield. She is also survived by her beloved five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and her longtime health aides, Dieula and Iesha.
Visitation will be from 10-11 am Friday January 3rd in Holy Trinity R.C. Church 315 Westfield Ave. Westfield, followed by the funeral mass at 11am. Burial will be in St. Gertrude’s Cemetery in Colonia.
